Help Us, Help You

The Office of Adult and Continuing Education (OACE) has over 700 computers in 15 locations around New York City. Most are in classroom labs and the others are used by administrative staff. It's not an easy job to keep all those computers up and running plus do the other things necessary to provide support to everyone.

You are the first step in this technical support circle. If we don't know that your computer is sick, how can we help you?

To report a problem and get it resolved in a timely manner, you need to follow these steps.

  1. Make sure that the problem you are having is repeatable. Reboot.
  2. Download a Request for Technical Support Form (RTS Form) and instructions.
  3. Fill out the RTS Form by documenting the specific steps to reproduce problem, and include the exact error message. See the instruction sheet for examples.
  4. E-mail a properly completed Request for Technical Support Form, as an attachment, to the e-mail address listed below.
  5. Use a seperate RTS Form for each issue or computer.
  6. Tape a copy of the completed RTS Form to the side of the affected computer.

E-Mail your properly filled out Request for Technical Support Form, as an attachment, to: E-Mail
